2021 YULEFEST Parade Rules

December 4, 2021

1. Horses will not be allowed in the parade.

2. Commercial floats are encouraged to enter.

3. Entries will not be accepted after November 19, 2021.

4. Gilmer National Bank on Titus is the official starting point of the parade.

5. A limited number of vehicles per school in the parade.

6. No traffic will be allowed on Titus Street from Saturday until the conclusion of

the Parade.

7. Entries may not throw or pass out candy or any other type of item.

8. Parade chairman has the final decision on any entry.

9. Entries must not delay the parade and must cooperate in maintain a smooth flow

of parade traffic.

10. All entries must follow complete parade route. Disbanded groups will not be

allowed to walk back through the parade.

11. All entries must travel in a straight line with no variations or weaving.

12. Groups under age 5 are not allowed to walk the parade route.

13. Cheerleaders and Dance groups are allowed to ride in vehicles but are

encouraged to walk the parade route doing cheers as they go. Please DO NOT

STOP in front of your school’s concession booth to perform as this will again

cause flow, gaps, and congestion problems. Suggestive dancing or twerking will

result in removal from parade immediately.

14. Parade route begins on Titus St. and is led by the police. All entries must follow

the police through the entire parade route. The parade route will be as follows:

left on Jefferson St., right on HWY 154 and right on Trinity St. All entries will

continue until Trinity St. ends at Walnut St. and go left on Walnut then go an

additional 50 ft. to Railroad St. which leads back to the float barn area.

15. Floats to be judged must be on Titus Street, south of Madison St. (Do not block

bank through or bank parking.)

16. Please DO NOT have a Santa on your float or in your group.

17. Must have a valid driver’s license to drive any motor vehicle in parade.

Floats in both classes will be judged on:

Portrayal of Float Theme 20 points

Creativity 20 points

Costume Representation 10 points

Special Effects 10 points

Workmanship 20 points

Beauty 20 points
